Qinzhou Yard Delivery to Help Meet Global Demand for Offshore Wind Foundations

In order to accelerate the accumulation of resources and enhance capacity in the Chinese offshore wind power industry supply chain, we have settled a new facility located in Qinzhou Port, Guangxi Pilot Free Trade Zone. The new base will make full use of land resources on the South West side of the Qinzhou Plant to jointly promote capacity building and develop the offshore wind power business.

The first-phase construction of Qinzhou Yard will be completed in early 2023. The annual production capacity is 120 single piles (maximum diameter of 15 meters, and maximum weight 4,500 tons). Once fully operational, the facility will have 8 offshore wind power XXL mono-piles foundation production lines and 1 OWF Jacket production line, making it an internationally competitive offshore wind power equipment manufacturing base.

In accordance with expansion plans, Qinzhou Yard will be equipped with a 307 meter long, 9 meter deep, quayside line capable of accommodating 100,000-ton ships, including construction of the largest steel structure workshop in China (at 370 meters long, 54 meters wide, and 39 meters high).

Qinzhou Yard will meet all of the manufacturing requirements to satisfy market demand for offshore wind power product manufacturing. The investment in the establishment of Qinzhou Yard is in line with China’s overall development plan which will help the company to improve the manufacturing resource conditions of the offshore wind power business and promote the development of the offshore wind power steel structure business.

On May 6th, the signing ceremony of the investment cooperation agreement was held in Qinzhou, Guangxi. CEO Hongling Chen said: “Qinzhou Yard will help the company to expand its business and enhance the company’s competitiveness and future profitability. This new facility, with 8 production lines for XXL Mono-piles and 1 production line for OWF Jackets, can be a cornerstone of our new world-class manufacturing standardisation base, attracting more projects and provide clients with superior quality products and highly efficient services while, at the same time, increasing the strengthen of China’s offshore wind power industry.”
