It was our pleasure to welcome representatives from Inch Cape Offshore Limited to our Zhongshan and Longxue Yards in China for a ceremony commemorating the first cutting of transition pieces for the Inch Cape Project in the UK.
CWHI & Inch Cape Teams at the First Cutting Ceremony in Zhongshan
CWHI's scope of work for the project encompasses of the fabrication, outfitting commissioning and shipping of 30 Transition Pieces to the Port of Leith in the UK. Each transition piece for the Inch Cape project will feature an outer diameter of 8 meters, length of 30 meters and weight of 600 ton each. Fabrication has started and is set to accelerate in the coming weeks at our Zhongshan and Longxue Yards, with delivery to the project scheduled in 2025.
Following the ceremony, CWHI's Deputy General Manager, Lay Tao, underscored the significance of the project, stating, "This project showcases the technical expertise and manufacturing excellence we bring to the offshore wind industry and also reinforces our dedication to supporting the global transition to renewable energy.

The 1,080MW Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm will consist of 72 wind turbines located 15 kilometers off the east coast of Angus, Scotland, in the North Sea. Once operational, the wind farm will generate enough clean energy to power hundreds of thousands of homes annually, making it a cornerstone of the UK's transition to a greener, more sustainable energy future.
Inch Cape Offshore Limited (ICOL), the project owner, is an equal joint venture between Red Rock Renewables, an Edinburgh-based renewable and sustainable energy company, and ESB, Ireland's leading energy company.
